Constant power and electrification across the communities within this region is central to the ERD strategy.
ERD’s Rural Electrification Scheme (RES) is the catalyst for sustainable industrialization in the agriculture and non-oil sectors, and culminate in the socio-economic development of local communities along the banks of the river Ethiope and Delta State in general. Our RES will Power the New Delta Economy (NDE); it will regenerate moribund Factories and trigger the establishment of new industries, in the non-oil sector. Factors needed for the generation of electricity (Gas, Sun, Water and Wind) are available and we are building partnerships that will enhance our capacity to light up one community after another, until the whole state can boast of sufficient and stable energy supply.
With the huge volumes of power-generating resources in the region, electrification for households and businesses is a priority.
That is why we have taken additional and deliberate efforts to understand the peculiarities, nuance and barriers to success that characterize the region to ensure a successful execution of the RES vision.
